The shorten history of Naungtaung philanthropic monastery

In 2001, February 19, the naungtaung monastery which is worship by all of naungtaung villagers was burnt on Wednesday at 2:00 am. According by local requirement, the special place where can builded the philanthropic monastery school was decide to rebuild the new monastery at the foot of naungtaung hill pagoda. Formerly 1948, the naungtaung abbot called “Bathdanta Nandar Wonta” often announce the followers “This land is auspicious ground”. The abbot was sent many pupils to the Buddhist monastery

school where is teaching Buddhism to gain many member of religious order. When the origins monastery had burnt in 2001, April 6, the current naungtaung abbot who is called “Ashin Raseinda Thiri” begin established currently philanthropic monastery school on auspicious ground on Friday 12:00 am. In 2003/2004 academic year, the monastery education began with 50 novices in primary level. The nursery school and the library is called “U Nantar Hein” can opened in 2005/2006 academic year. In 2006/2007 academic year, can also increased the over primary and basic computer training. The middle grade students and high grade student was accepted in 2010/2011 academic year. In this year constructed boarding house in special garden and was accepted many girls. At 2011/2012 academic year, the graduate students and under graduate students was accepted and instructed the Basic English, basic computer and developmental subject. Now there are 1159 students in naungtaung philanthropic monastery. Among them 943 are resident students. There are also have 7 abbots administers, 7 woman administers and total teachers 92 in naungtaung. They are teaching from primary to high grade. In naungtaung philanthropicmonastery school are teaching not only religious, social relation and detentions environment but also English speaking, basic computer and developmental subjects.
